Reverend Shannon Collis

Rev'd. Shannon's Bio -

The Rev’d Shannon Collis was baptized into the Episcopal Church in San Diego, CA. She is a veteran of the U.S. Army and has lived and traveled extensively abroad. She received her Bachelors degree in Anthropology, and her Masters Degree in Physical (forensic) Anthropology from San Diego State University.

 

After an initial career as a college instructor and forensic consultant she returned to college to complete a science curriculum and moved to Palmdale, CA where she worked as a wildlife biologist for the Air Force, the Bureau of Land Management, and the U.S. Geological Survey.

Shannon graduated with a Masters of Divinity from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific, Berkeley, CA. She served as a curate at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lancaster, CA. At the same time she also served Episcopal missions in California’s Mojave Desert, as well as two Lutheran congregations. She was called as Vicar of St. Hilary’s Episcopal Church in Hesperia, CA and then as Vicar of St. Francis on the Hill in West Texas.

 

Before being called as Priest-in-Charge of Trinity Episcopal Church in Hamburg, NY Shannon served as Diocesan supply throughout Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Riverside, and San Joaquin Counties in Southern California.

Among her many interests are the stewardship of all creation, caring for her menagerie, gardening, reading, theatre, and travel.
